Welcome to the Grindstone Wrestling Club

The success of a youth wrestling program should be measured by how each wrestler improves and develops throughout the season, not on wins and losses.

Since 2015, Grindstone has been promoting young wrestlers in the Westminster area. The club is a Sponsored Program by the Westminster Area Recreation Council, a 501c(3) organization, and all staff members are volunteers.

Wrestling provides a unique opportunity for athletes to challenge themselves physically and mentally.  Your wrestling team is an extension of your family, where we all support and cheer each other on, but when a wrestler steps onto the mat by themselves, he or she must rely on their own abilities and will to succeed. An athlete who wrestles learns resilience, pride after a victory, or humility after a defeat. It is through these mental and physical strains that wrestlers grow and become stronger. That strength will carry over into their lives for years to come.

Our program provides two junior leagues (elementary & middle school ages)

 * Mat Rats - Boys & Girls

* Valkyries - Girls only

Registration for 2024-2025 season is now open, and practices will begin first week of November.
